Remembrance: Memorial To An Unknown Soldier is a profoundly moving documentary tribute to the nearly 28,000 Canadian servicemen and women who gave their lives to their country and have no graves. It is a reflection on the act of Remembrance, the needs it fulfills, the fidelity it requires, the comfort it provides and the commitment it inspires. It appeared on Vision TV and CBC and we anticipate it to be significant in ceremonies of remembrance well into the future.
"Remembrance is a commitment we make with ourselves to remember. The phenomenon of remembrance is one of the more remarkable faculties of the human imagination and must be distinguished from memory, which can be involuntary. Remembrance in our culture is manifest more by our memory of sacrifice in war then in any other way. The occasions which mark it become national events, and are widely respected despite changes that may drastically alter our view of religion, death, and the acceptability of war."
